Professor Tang Lee, The University of Calgary
Tang Lee teaches building science, indoor air quality, sustainable design, mechanical and civil engineering at several universities in Canada and abroad. He is on several committees of Health Canada, National Research Council of Canada, Canadian Standards Association, CCMC, and help upgrade the training manual for building codes officers. He conducts indoor air quality investigations and qualified as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases due to his reputation as an academic, architect and builder. Tang Lee is also fish farmer raising tropical fish for consumption and where the waste water is used in a hydroponics greenhouse.
Hamish Moir, P.Eng.
Graduated with B.Sc. in mechanical engineering 1986, U of Alberta and began his consulting career with UMA Engineering.
Moved to Cohos Evamy Partners in 1989 as project Engineer, Spent 5 years in Ottawa as resident site engineer during construction of the Solicitor Generals’ CSIS National Headquarters Building.
In 1995 returned to Edmonton and Started Moir Engineering. In 1998 merged with Lessoway Engineering in Calgary to form Lessoway Moir Partners and opened a third office in Whitehorse in 2003.
Most recently has been interested in energy conservation technologies such as geothermal and solar in the building mechanical systems area. Has been involved in the design and construction of geothermal based building systems for 8 years.
Hamish is a partner in a design-build construction company Earthsource Geothermal dedicated to turnkey projects that integrate engineering design, geothermal/solar and conventional building systems in commercial buildings.
Hamish has acted as an instructor of HVAC building systems at Algonquin College, Ottawa and is currently a sessional instructor for BOMI (Building Owners and Managers Institute) in the courses Building Design, Construction and Operation, Parts I and II.
Has most recently passed exams and requirements to become a CGD (Certified Geothermal Designers) registered in Canada with IGSHPA. Currently there are less than ten CGD’s registered in Canada.
